FaceCam Rec - Privacy Policy
In short. Free screen recorder with face cam: watch one short ad, record one video. There is no account and no sign-up. Nothing leaves your phone except what this page names.
1. What the app does
FaceCam Rec is an Android app by JabbieWorld (https://jabbie.world). Free screen recorder with face cam: watch one short ad, record one video.
2. Who is responsible
JabbieWorld, a trade name of Alexander Wannyn (https://jabbie.world), is responsible for this app. Contact: https://jabbie.world. Email: info@jabbie.world.
3. Your recordings, camera and microphone
- The app asks for permission to use the camera (CAMERA) and the microphone (RECORD_AUDIO). It also uses Android's screen capture (MediaProjection), which Android asks you to approve every time you start a recording, and the permission to draw over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) to show the camera bubble and the floating control bubble. On Android 13 and higher it asks for permission to show notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) for the recording notification.
- While you record, the app captures what is on your screen, the picture from your front camera and your microphone. If you choose internal audio (Android 10 and higher), it also captures the sound that other apps play, through Android's playback capture. Apps that block capture of their sound, and call audio, are never included. This happens only after you press record, and only while the recording runs. Android shows its own capture indicator while the screen is being captured, and the app cannot hide it.
- When you stop, the video is kept in the app's private storage so you can preview it, and you can discard it unsaved. It reaches your gallery only when you save it, as an MP4 file in Movies/FaceCam Rec through Android's MediaStore; on Android 8 and 9 it goes to the app's own Movies/FaceCam Rec folder on your phone instead. The app needs no storage permission for this. The video is never uploaded, copied to a server, or shared with me or anyone else. You decide whether to keep, share or delete the file.
- The app does not record calls, and it has no feature for doing so. A recording stops when a phone call starts.
- Saved on your device only: app settings (such as recording quality, audio, bubble shape, size and framing), whether you watched an ad whose video you have not recorded yet, how many recordings you have saved, a launch counter, which first-run notices you have already seen, whether the app has already asked you for a rating, and the month and year of birth from the first-launch age check (change it in Settings). I cannot see any of it.
- Deleting: clearing the app's data (Android Settings > Apps > FaceCam Rec > Storage > Clear data) or uninstalling also deletes recordings you have not saved yet. It does not delete recordings saved to your gallery: remove those in your gallery (Movies/FaceCam Rec). On Android 8 and 9, saved recordings are in the app's own folder, so clearing the data or uninstalling deletes them too.
- Legal basis: recording your screen, camera and microphone happens locally and only at your request. No personal data about it reaches me.
4. Recording other people
You are responsible for what you record and for how you use it. Screens, calls, chats and voices of other people can contain their personal data, and recording or sharing them may require their consent under the laws where you live. The app shows a notice about this the first time you use it. Do not use FaceCam Rec to record anyone without the permission you need.
5. No credits: one rewarded ad per video
- FaceCam Rec has no credits, no credit balance, no ad-free session and no watermark. Before a recording starts, you can watch one rewarded ad: watching it to the end pays for that one video. Full HD, audio and every frame style come with every video, and a saved video never carries a watermark.
- If you close the ad early, it pays for nothing and you can try again. If no ad can be shown (for example you are offline), the recording starts without one. If you watched the ad but the recording did not start (for example you declined Android's screen capture), the paid video stays on your device until you record it, and I do not show you a second ad on top of it.
- The app shows no other ads: no full-screen ads between recordings and no banners. It sells nothing, so there is nothing to buy or restore.
6. Data collected and why
Google Play lists these data types for FaceCam Rec:
| Data | Why | Shared with a third party | Optional |
|---|---|---|---|
| Approximate location | Advertising or marketing; Analytics; Fraud prevention, security, and compliance | Yes | No |
| App interactions | Advertising or marketing; Analytics; Fraud prevention, security, and compliance | Yes | No |
| Diagnostics | Advertising or marketing; Analytics; Fraud prevention, security, and compliance | Yes | No |
| Device or other IDs | Advertising or marketing; Analytics; Fraud prevention, security, and compliance | Yes | No |
"Shared" means the data goes to a third party that decides for itself how to process it (for ads, that is Google AdMob).
Nothing else is collected. Your files and settings stay on your device. I do not sell personal data.
7. Ads and how to opt out
FaceCam Rec shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited). AdMob may use your device's advertising ID and other device data to show ads, limit how often you see them and detect fraud. Google decides for itself how it processes this data, as an independent controller. How Google handles it: policies.google.com/technologies/ads and policies.google.com/privacy. How Google uses information from apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland): where the law requires it, a consent message lets you accept or refuse personalised ads and the use of device identifiers. Personalised ads rest on that consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can change your choice later under Privacy options in the app's settings, where available.
- Opt out of personalisation: open Android Settings > Google > Ads (the path varies by device) and turn off ad personalisation, or visit adssettings.google.com.
- Reset or delete the advertising ID: in the same Ads settings choose Reset advertising ID or Delete advertising ID. Resetting gives you a new ID; deleting it stops ads being personalised with it.
Anyone the age check (see Children) treats as possibly under 18 gets only non-personalised ads rated for general audiences (G), through Google's child-directed and under-age-of-consent treatment. The ad formats are: optional rewarded ads. A rewarded ad is optional: you choose to watch it and get a reward in return (video: 1).
8. Purchases
FaceCam Rec sells nothing and has no paid features. The app may sometimes ask you to rate it with Google Play's in-app review prompt, which Google processes.
9. Network use
FaceCam Rec sends nothing to a server of mine. The only network traffic is what Ads and Purchases describe.
10. Legal bases (GDPR)
- What the app does on your device: it happens locally, at your request. No personal data about it reaches me.
- What the app sends over the internet for its job: the section that describes it names the legal basis.
- The age check: it runs only on your device and serves my legal obligation to protect minors (Article 6(1)(c)).
- Messages you send me: my legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Ads and purchases: where the app has them, Ads and Purchases give the legal basis.
11. Retention
I run no servers for this app and hold no data about you, so I have nothing to retain. Settings and progress stay on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. Data that Google receives for ads or purchases is kept under Google's own policies. Messages you send me are kept only as long as needed to answer you.
12. International transfers
Data that Google receives for ads or purchases (Ads, Purchases) may be processed in countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States, under safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. See policies.google.com/privacy for details. Any other internet service this page names may also process your request outside your country, under its own policy.
13. Your rights and deleting your data
Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of or a copy of your personal data, object to processing, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to your local data protection authority.
- Data held by me: none, apart from messages you send me. To have a conversation deleted, contact me at https://jabbie.world. Email: info@jabbie.world.
- Data on your device: uninstall the app, or open Android Settings > Apps > FaceCam Rec > Storage > Clear data.
- Data held by Google: manage or delete your Google activity at myactivity.google.com; where the app shows ads, Ads says how to reset or delete the advertising ID. Requests about data Google holds go to Google.
I answer requests within 30 days.
14. Children
FaceCam Rec is for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. The app asks for your month and year of birth (never the day) when you first open it. Only those two are stored, on your device, and it is never sent to me or to Google; the app treats anyone it may consider under 18 as a minor, and Ads says what that means for ads. I do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent me data, contact me as Who is responsible describes and I will delete it.
15. Security
The app requests only the permissions it needs, and what it keeps for you stays on your device. Google's ad and billing libraries, where Ads and Purchases name them, connect over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
16. Changes
If this policy changes, I update this page and its date. Material changes are also reflected in the Google Play Data safety section.
