1. What the app does

WordRivals is an Android app by JabbieWorld (https://jabbie.world). Daily 5-letter word puzzle in 4 languages, quick trivia, and duels with friends.

2. Who is responsible

JabbieWorld, a trade name of Alexander Wannyn (https://jabbie.world), is responsible for this app. Contact: https://jabbie.world. Email: info@jabbie.world.

3. Data that stays on your device

5. Data collected and why

Google Play lists these data types for WordRivals:

DataWhyShared with a third partyOptional
Approximate locationAdvertising or marketing; Analytics; Fraud prevention, security, and complianceYesNo
Purchase historyApp functionalityNoNo
App interactionsAdvertising or marketing; Analytics; Fraud prevention, security, and complianceYesNo
DiagnosticsAdvertising or marketing; Analytics; Fraud prevention, security, and complianceYesNo
Device or other IDsAdvertising or marketing; Analytics; Fraud prevention, security, and complianceYesNo

"Shared" means the data goes to a third party that decides for itself how to process it (for ads, that is Google AdMob).

Nothing else is collected. Your files and settings stay on your device. I do not sell personal data.

6. Ads and how to opt out

WordRivals shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited). AdMob may use your device's advertising ID and other device data to show ads, limit how often you see them and detect fraud. Google decides for itself how it processes this data, as an independent controller. How Google handles it: policies.google.com/technologies/ads and policies.google.com/privacy. How Google uses information from apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Anyone the age check (see Children) treats as possibly under 18 gets only non-personalised ads rated for general audiences (G), through Google's child-directed and under-age-of-consent treatment. The ad formats are: banner ads, full-screen ads.

7. Purchases

WordRivals offers a one-time purchase that removes the ads. It is handled by Google Play Billing: Google processes the payment as an independent controller and I never receive your card or payment details. The app asks Google Play on your device whether you own the purchase; after the purchase it no longer requests ads. The legal basis is the performance of a contract with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Your purchases are listed in the Google Play app under Payments and subscriptions > Budget and history. The app may sometimes ask you to rate it with Google Play's in-app review prompt, which Google processes.

8. Network use

WordRivals reaches jabbieworld.com, as the sections above describe. Like any web server, the host of jabbieworld.com can see the IP address and time of each request and may keep standard server logs to run and secure the site. I do not use them to identify you or to build profiles. These logs serve my legitimate interest in running and securing the site (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Ads and purchases add the traffic that Ads and Purchases describe.

9. Legal bases (GDPR)

10. Retention

I hold no data about you on servers other than the ordinary web server logs of jabbieworld.com that Network use describes. Settings and progress stay on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. Data that Google receives for ads or purchases is kept under Google's own policies. Messages you send me are kept only as long as needed to answer you.

11. International transfers

Data that Google receives for ads or purchases (Ads, Purchases) may be processed in countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States, under safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. See policies.google.com/privacy for details. Any other internet service this page names may also process your request outside your country, under its own policy.

12. Your rights and deleting your data

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of or a copy of your personal data, object to processing, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to your local data protection authority.

I answer requests within 30 days.

13. Children

WordRivals is for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. The app asks for your month and year of birth (never the day) when you first open it. Only those two are stored, on your device, and it is never sent to me or to Google; the app treats anyone it may consider under 18 as a minor, and Ads says what that means for ads. I do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent me data, contact me as Who is responsible describes and I will delete it.

14. Security

The app requests only the permissions it needs, and what it keeps for you stays on your device. Google's ad and billing libraries, where Ads and Purchases name them, connect over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).

15. Changes

If this policy changes, I update this page and its date. Material changes are also reflected in the Google Play Data safety section.
