Voice Translate

Talk to someone who speaks another language. Voice Translate splits the screen in two: one half for you, one half for them. Hold your button and speak, and the translation appears and is read out loud in their language. Then they hold theirs and answer.

Everything is translated on your phone. What you say and type never leaves the device.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Pick a language for each half of the screen.
2. Hold the microphone button of your half and talk, or type in the text field.
3. What was heard shows at once. The translation appears below it and is spoken in the other language.
4. The other person holds their button and answers. The whole conversation stays on screen.

• Nothing you say or type is uploaded
• No account, no sign-up, no analytics from us
• The network is used only for the rewarded ad (Google AdMob) and the model downloads you start

FREE, WITH ONE SHORT AD

• The app is free. One short ad opens every language for an hour, even if you close the app.
• No ad available? You are let in anyway.
• No banners, no full-screen ads in between, nothing to buy.

GOOD TO KNOW

• The app needs its model files copied onto the phone once: the translation model, the speech recognition model and the voice. The app tells you what is missing. Without the speech files you can still type.
• Translations come from a small language model that runs on your phone. It is good for everyday conversation but can make mistakes, especially with names, slang and technical words. Do not rely on it for medical, legal or safety-critical messages.
• English and Dutch are spoken with a natural voice. Other languages use your phone's own text-to-speech voice, so install that language in your phone's text-to-speech settings if you do not hear it.
• Please respect other people. Ask before you record someone's voice.
